Isang Linggong Pag-ibig (A Week of Love)

WAIT! It's not what you think! I will not write about my love life here (says someone who wrote a letter).

For this blog, I will be taking you with me to an olfactory experience that will reveal which perfumes from my collection are my favourites. For a week, I will be using different perfume each day and describe why this perfume is a must-have (not really, I just want to show you my faves), and when do I usually wear them.

A bit of disclaimer, I'm not a pro at perfumes but I do love wearing them because I feel better when I leave an impression of smelling good. It's something I cannot live without. I must say, having this kind of thinking brought me to a place where I kept trying out new ones and buying the ones I liked until comes a point when I didn't notice that I already have a collection. But just like any other collection, there are only some that you'll use on a regular basis, and as for me, these are the ones that come in mind, and because I'm not creative enough, this is the way I thought I could share to you my favorites.

I'm not gonna list them down in order, It's just a list of what I used for each day of the week.

First off,

Monday - AMALFI SUNRAY from Zara emotions line.

For the first day of the week, I wore Amalfi Sunray from a Zara collaboration with Jo Malone (the person aka "nose", not the brand).

This perfume has both citrusy and flowery notes perfect for summer or for when in tropical countries. It is energizing and wakes me up from a tiring day or for a day I know will make me tired :D which is perfect for mondays.

I use this as a regular perfume and not for special occasions since the weather here is hot and cold, I noticed it also boosts my mood and exudes a happy feeling whenever I wear it. This perfume is ideal for daily wear especially when it's a bit hot since it is refreshing.

Still, perfume reacts differently according to body chemistry and it reacts greatly with mine considering that citrusy scents often causes a weird musty smell when it reacts badly with body chemistry, but this perfume is one of my must-haves and is one of my favourites for daily wear.

TUESDAY - ZARA RED TEMPTATION (original)

For the next one, I used another perfume from Zara - my definite favourite. I buy a bottle or two whenever I get the chance to buy it from their physical store or even online. This perfume runs fast from their shelves and is a best-seller.

I decided to wear this on a Tuesday because my Monday was hectic as fucc- and I wanted to feel cool and chill for the next day, so from an upbeat perfume to a cold, sophisticated one, the transition is like a much needed break.

This perfume speaks sensually to both the user and the lurker. It has a strong but non-irritating scent mostly of wood, amber, floral, and saffron notes. It is a sophisticated scent that screams money and privilege without breaking the bank.

I usually wear it as my signature perfume and is the commonly used one during cold days or when I'm sure I'll be in an airconditioned area. I also wear this in events since it has a powerful silage and projection - a head turner, plus it is long-lasting.

I wrote "original" because this perfume has different versions and I wanted to highlight that I use the original one and not its versions.

WEDNESDAY - ENGLISH PEAR AND FREESIA by Jo Malone (the brand)

This is a crowd-favorite from Jo Malone and it is understandable why.

Its floral and fruity notes capture the feel of spring and takes you to a trance in a garden full of flowers in bloom. A powerful yet mild scent that brings joy and energy to the wearer (but sometimes annoying to the lurker).

On Wednesdays I don't wear pink, but I always have errands and I need to go out of the office a lot, so to keep myself from feeling a cabinet fever, I decided to wear something light and fresh, and English Pear and Freesia is the one that comes to mind.

This perfume is a personal debate for me. When I bought a decant of this, I really hated how it smells because it has always irritated my nose and it put me off, but one day I woke up in the middle of my period and my brain just decided that I will like it - and so I miraculously did, to the point of buying a second-hand bottle from an enthusiast online (yes, they do exist - people from the fragrance community selling their slightly used perfume bottles for a lesser price), and yes, I bought a second-hand one because it is cheaper than buying a new one.

The perfume itself is fresh like you went out of shower after soaking into a flowery bubble bath. Although it is a good perfume, it doesn't last long since its a cologne and not an EDP, which is a let down for it's price.

THURSDAY - EMIR SUPER CRUSH by Paris Corner

For the fourth day of the week, I wore a rather strong perfume. Super Crush as I have mentioned in my previous post is a powerful perfume boasting a crazy silage.

Thursday, I have to attend a meeting and be with a group of people. To make an impression and to feel prim and proper, I wore Super Crush - it leaves this silage that everyone can't not notice. It also smells expensive and prude, so to wear this in this kind of set-up is a game-changer.

However, it is also a perfume that chooses how it smells depending on body chemistry. It has woody, musky, saffron and gingery note that compliments the cool weather or setting. I wear it as another signature perfume because I don't actually care whether it's hot or cool, but I wear it especially when I know I'll be in a crowd because it is a standout and I want attention. - not the bad one but like I really believe that how you smell leaves a longer impression than how you look, and when people notice I smell good, it leaves a heavenly feeling and a huge compliment for me, so wearing this in crowd is definitely a go for me.

FRIDAY - FLEUR DE PATCHOULI by Zara Emotions line

Yet another favorite from Zara's Emotions line. A scent that makes two ends meet - a mixture of woody and floral notes.

Fleur de Patchouli is a scent I wear when I'm in ragged clothes. The impression I have with this perfume is like a simple, uncomplicated streetwear or comfortable outside clothes. It may be quite a mixture of notes, but it perfectly fits my simple cozy clothings. It has the delicateness of peony and the strong character of sage. It's versatility drives me into simplicity and brings me back to my roots.

Since Fridays are a bit chill at the office, I thought of wearing something that reminds me to be chill and to take things slow. But since I also need to go out for a scheduled errand to the bank, to use something light and flexible and Fleur de Patchouli is the one to be.

It being from Zara is a catch because it doesn't cost much but it gives quality and quantity, it also brings out different emotions and feelings just like the line itself.

It is also long-lasting so from a day of doing errands to a dinner out with friends or family, it is a good perfume to wear as it doesn't turn into a weird scent even after sweating. This multi-layered fragrance is perfect for those who are in confusion on which notes they should embrace or which type of perfume should they choose.

SATURDAY - CAROLINA HERRERA's VERY GOOD GIRL

Saturday nights are my gimmick and date nights and Carolina Herrera Very Good Girl is a perfect date night perfume.

It is a seductive fragrance that invites sensuality and femininity. A vanilla and floral combination that will leave your date to their knees. It is one of my favorite date night perfumes because it is elegant and as I said, exudes feminine energy.

It is a flirty perfume but is not too heavy and only leaves a positive impression. A perfume I wear when I want to feel like the woman that I am and I want dominance. Its vanilla note is not as strong as majority of vanilla fragrances, however, it is really noticeable but is not irritating. But aside from that, it comes with this cute stiletto bottle that ups that female fetale feels.

My bottle is distressed because I opened it to get some mL for my decant. Overall this perfume is a good one to use if you want to go on a date and want to leave a good impression. Just don't wear it in the heat of the sun because any vanilla perfume will smell musty when mixed with sweat.

Going out with my family on a Sunday. Sunday is a family day and my mom uses one of the perfumes I gave her, but I'm not a quitter so I'm using something that will win against hers.

Kidding aside, My ultimate favorite of all perfumes I have (ever since my BR540 extrait ran out) is Club de Nuit's Untold. This clean-smelling perfume is an all-rounder with woody, floral, strong Amberwood note, and a touch of ambergris.

It is a sophisticated scent that can be used by both females and males - often known as a clone of BR540, this rather cheaper perfume leaves a mysterious expensive impression and gives a luxurious feel, a versatile fragrance one can use whether it's a day or a night out, a fragrance of high-quality but does not kill the pocket.

Because of it's elegance, it is a good scent to use on special occasions like galas and formal dinners, making you stand out and leave a good impression. It's a perfume for social-climbers like me. Untold being good for both daytime and night time should not be used when there's a high heat index as it is prone to smelling musty due to it's musky and woody notes, so make no mistake.

------

Well, these are my favourite perfumes and wearing it on different days of the week is weird because I usually pair them with occasions and matters of clothing, however, I had a good time a fun week using them on different days.

The let down of using these perfumes in a week is that some of them are too strong that they still leave a little scent even after bath, so I have to work on removing that scent before using another (Super Crush and Red temptation, I'm looking at you both).

Overall, my favorite out of my favorites are Super Crush, Red Temptation, and Untold. These are my signature perfumes and I'm known to smell like them and I'm not turning away from that any soon. However, Fleur de Patchouli comes really close.

Bonus!

DIPTYQUE's Corail Oscuro

It's a unique scent that differs in characteristics from the ones I have mentioned above.
This perfume is something you would imagine if you think of the sea and its living corals. For someone who loves being in the sea, this one reminds me that water is sacred and beauty lies underneath it.
Containing both citrusy and spicy notes, you would think that this is a very strong masculine-smelling perfume but it's not like that. It actually is a very mild and relaxing fragrance. A perfume perfect for summer and warm weather. It gives a cool feeling and a reminder of the sea breeze - would be expected as it is a part of Diptyques's Les Essence Line which highlights nature's treasures and it is my favorite from the line (not that I have smelled everything)
Althoughhhhhhh I still have to think of when to use this because I'm still waiting for it to macerate so I can get the richer scent I look forward to.

There you have it! Another perfume-related post.

What about you, what are your favorite perfumes?
