Random Yaps and Revisits - pt. 1: What Room is This?
Random Yaps that might have used my braincell or two. Or might have been a part of some stuff I wrote when I was younger.
------
Part 1. What Room is This?
I was writing here about my five senses and using them to describe something. Can you guess what room I was in?
Let's start.
-------
I went inside a room and stayed there for an hour, tried to observe in the first few minutes and decided to sit at the center and let my body talk for me. What kind of room is this? Where is this? You will find out soon.
Nose:
As
I got inside this room, I noticed the difference in the smell from the outside
and inside of this room. Outside smells free, the smell of food, air and smoke.
Inside, a strong smell of perfume air freshener lingers around as if it
surrounding me, the smell of soft linen is also present, as I go in the
interior of the room, I start to smell this kind of fragrance that is unique
among the smell of the perfume, it was the smell of a human. The kind of smell
that is unique to a person, it is not that strong but it is distinctly
recognizable. On the side, I sensed a wooden smell, a piece of wood or maybe a
chunk, it was the kind of smell that comes out of the wood when it is cut.
There are different odors in this room, from the fragrant perfume down to the smell
of wood, this room has a lot of things going on inside. Have you figured out
what room this is?
Touch:
I
sat in the center, It felt soft and relaxing, it was welcoming. There were
other things around me, there were soft bulks and hard little things around me.
I squeezed one of those soft bulks, hugged it and felt good. I almost banged my
head on the side, it was a wooden wall, a partition. There was also this kind
of wood in the inner part of the room. Around me are things I can touch with my
hands, but not everything is to be touched, some things in this room are off
limits to people who are not allowed inside. The floor feels cold,
it was smooth and dense, it was concrete and painted. Do you have any idea
where I am?
Hear:
As
I opened the door, it creaked softly, it was creaking but it was not annoying,
the door shut but it was not too loud. The sound of the fan is the first thing
you can hear, it is not too loud but the room is so quiet that the sound of the
fan seems loud. As you enter inside and sit, the quietness will seem to embrace
you. Disregarding the sound of the fan, you will hear the birds’ chirp, too
pleasant to hear. Then, you will hear motorcycles and cars going back and
forth, they were a bit annoying. The place is rather quiet so you can hear
yourself breathing. Have an idea where this is?
Feel:
This
room feels welcoming and relaxing, but I don’t think everyone will feel the
same as I do. Just like what I said above, this room is filled with
things that can be touched, but not everything is allowed to be touched. It is
welcoming and relaxing, but it is also constraining and creating a
boundary between other places and other things. Once you enter your own kind of
room, you will feel the same kind of welcome but when you enter others’ you
will not be as comfortable. You will be taken away from other brighter things
outside. Do you really not know what room this is?
Sight:
From
the outside, you will already find out what kind of room this is. A structure
filled with partitions, one or more of these partitions may be this kind of
room. Once I entered, I saw a small clothes line, half-body mirror, exhaust
fan, dividers, a small table and bed. The floor was shiny, it was painted dark
red. There were pillows on the bed and one of the walls is made of ply-wood. On
the top of bed is also a thicker kind of wood, it was in the innermost part of
the room. The window is near a tree, there were birds outside they were busy
chirping. There are things that belong personally to a person and the others
are shared. Once you enter here, you will be separated from the outside world
and will get enclosed in the space. It is so relaxing that people often come
here to break free from stress. There was a bottle of air freshener near the
table, it was opened. There are also some dried laundries hanging above the
bed. The place was rather small, it was around 5meters squared. There can only
be two to three people in this space with regards to the other things inside.
Have
you figured out that I was in a bedroom? A bedroom usually feels
welcoming to people who have the permission to enter, while it leaves
unwelcomed people uncomfortable. There are things inside the bedroom that are
allowed to be touched and examined but there are also things that the owners
keep for themselves. Usually, people who want to take a break from the outside
go here to rest and relax. I went inside my sister's and my bedroom.
