LEMPUYANG TEMPLE


One of the Six Sanctuaries of the World, the Lempuyang Temple is one of the most sacred temples in Bali, believed to be built before the majority of other sacred temples in the region.

Facing the majestic Mount Agung, the Pura Luhur Lempuyang is famously called The Gates of Heaven and easily bacame one of the most iconic places to visit in Bali.

A PLACE OF SOLACE


One of the places I wanted to go first when i booked this trip.

This hundreds of years old structure is a place where the sacred and profane coexists, you will notice this by non-Balinese and non-Hindu people are not allowed in certain areas and heights on the steps in the temple.  This is a way of embracing the sanctity of their beliefs and opening themselves to the mundane by acceptinf visitors (in specific areas).

The best way to experience this temple is by going here before sunrise. You'll be able to see how majestic the sun rises on top of the mountain, and seeing it through the temple gates is so fascinating.


The way all these elements coexist together gives a feeling of solace and comfort. It was something I was not expecting to feel but deeply felt.

 WAIT! It's not what you think! I will not write about my love life here ( says someone who wrote a letter ). For this blog, I will be taking you with me to an olfactory experience that will reveal which perfumes from my collection are my favourites.
